Pink Background Papers for Pink Ribbon FoundationAt the recent end of season “TOCA Night of Champions” celebrating the winners of the British Touring Car Championships, Calumet and Fujifilm donated an XT-1 and accessories to a charity raffle in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Together with prizes donated by MG cars and IHG hotels we raised a total of £2440 for this good cause.

The winner of the camera was ITV commentator David Addison pictured here receiving his prize from Stuart Hopewell of Fujifilm. Throughout the 2013 and 2014 seasons Calumet and Fujifilm supported the Championship providing in car Go Pro cameras and related media .



Pink Background Papers for Pink Ribbon FoundationIn support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Calumet Photographic is donating 10% from each sale of their range of pink photographic studio background papers.

Calumet aims to help raise vital funds for its chosen charity; the Pink Ribbon Foundation, during the month of October. The collection of photographic studio background papers includes 13 shades of pink, each priced from £26 - £46.

The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or who have been affected by breast cancer or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment.

Jon Warner, Managing Director at Calumet Photographic, said: “October is renowned for being ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’; it’s a vital campaign to help people understand cancer as well as raise important funds for a great cause. We are thrilled to be donating everything we raise to the Pink Ribbon Foundation.”



Calumet's Gear of the Year 2014 Gold Award

Calumet Photographic is excited to have won the Gold Service Award at the Gear of the Year Awards which took place in August.

The annual awards, hosted by Digital Photo and Practical Photography magazines, are a huge accolade within the photographic industry.

Gold Service Award winners are voted for by customers and readers of Digital Photo and Practical Photography.

Jon WarnerCalumet Photographic celebrates a successful series of Spring Open Days with over 1000 visitors to its six stores nationwide.

The leading photography retailer held six open days during May and June; in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow and Belfast. Offering one-to-ones with experts from all of the big brand names; Canon, Nikon, Epson, Manfrotto, Bowens, Lowepro, Profoto as well as many others, the Calumet Spring Open Days offered customers the opportunity to seek advice and preview the latest equipment on the market. Amongst the exciting new launches was the Pentax 645Z; the new Pentax DSLR flagship model.

Selected open days offered visitors the chance to attend specialist seminars with well-known photography experts. Eight seminars took place throughout the day, each of which was extremely well attended.

Hundreds of people received the free sensor cleaning on offer from the Calumet Photographic professionals. There were six lucky winners and proud new owners of a Canon EOS 700D 18-55mm Kit; all open day visitors were entered into a prize draw at each open day.

Photographic retailer, Calumet is proud to announce that it is supporting established photographer, Rory Lewis for his up and coming exhibition of high profile celebrity faces, titled ‘Northerners’

Photography professionals, Calumet are providing Rory with use of specialist Hasselblad equipment and its Drummond Street exhibition space in London. "We are delighted to be working with Rory and supporting his exhibition," said marketing manager, Sian Hamer. "He is a very exciting photographer to look out for and his unique take on well-known actors will make for a popular exhibition."

Rory's 'Northerners Exhibition' is an entirely new collection of over 100 portraits featuring a cross section of Northern celebrities, sports personalities, actors, politicians and people encountered; featuring sittings with Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Karl Pilkington, Ian McShane, Emma Rigby, Claire Sweeney and many others.

Rory is previewing the Exhibition in his home city of Liverpool before it moves to Manchester and London. Rory hopes to raise £10,000 for UNICEF, to help children all over the world in need of support, water, food, medical care and education.

Before the Exhibition opens to the public in the Liverpool Met Quarter, there will be a private open evening with a Champagne reception on Thursday 24 July, accompanied by a talk from Rory about the work. Tickets cost £15.00pp. The Exhibition will then be open to the public from Friday 25 July and is FREE to all.

Open DaysLeading photography retailer, Calumet Photographic, is hosting a series of open days this spring which will be taking place at its stores nationwide. The open days will offer demonstrations, seminars and special offers for those wanting to improve their photography knowledge.

There will be six open days in total, each giving visitors the chance to win a Canon EOS 700D 18-55mm Kit as well as offering free sensor cleaning, product demonstrations, seminars, expert advice from the top brands as well as great offers and promotions throughout the store.

All open days will run from 10am - 4pm with the exception of London which will run 10am - 6pm

On The Move winners 2014

For the 3rd year running, photography retailer, Calumet Photographic has supported the On the Move national competition for disabled photographers.

The winners attended a VIP day at the Photography Show at the NEC last month, where the winning images were shown.

This is the third year of the competition, which is jointly organised by the Disabled Photographers' Society and Mobility Choice, the charity behind the annual Mobility Roadshow, and attracts entries from budding photographers all over the UK. With a broad theme of 'Travel and Leisure', entries depicted days out, holidays, sports, transport, and destinations near and far, giving the judges a tough time in choosing a winner in each of three age categories.

And the winners were:

12 to 18 years
12-year-old Ben Newnham from Southport

Under 12 years
8-year-old Archie West from Devon

The winners prize package included Calumet photographic accessories and vouchers, a Merlin Annual Pass for a disabled person and carer, offering entry to a range of top UK attractions such as the London Eye, LEGOLAND Windsor and Madame Tussauds for 12 months, and £150 in cash.

Announcing the winners at The Photography Show, Calumet MD Jon Warner commented: "I am delighted that Calumet is associated with this annual competition which promotes the accessibility of photography to anyone with a disability. We have seen some excellent entries in the three years since it began and we look forward to continuing our support in future."

The winning and short-listed entries will be on public display later in the year at Calumet Photographic in central London - dates to be confirmed but details will be posted on the DPS and Mobility Roadshow websites.
